Conquering Communication Challenges - every stage, every age.
Conquering Communication Challenges - every stage, every age.
Throughout my twenty-year career, I've dedicated myself to restoring and enhancing communication skills across all ages—from young children finding their words to adults rebuilding their speech after stroke. I obtained my B.A. in Communication Disorders from LSU Baton Rouge in 1998 and my Master of Communication Disorders from LSU Health & Science Center New Orleans in 2001.
My clinical expertise has been shaped by practicing across Louisiana and Texas, spanning educational, medical, and rehabilitation settings. After completing my clinical fellowship year in Louisiana, I've worked with diverse populations—from empowering high school students with learning disabilities to treating post-stroke adults in hospital settings, geriatric patients with swallowing disorders in skilled nursing facilities, and children with autism in outpatient rehabilitation. From 2012 to 2021, I served pre-K through 8th grade students in Richardson ISD and Dallas ISD while mentoring emerging clinicians through their fellowship year.
My specialized training encompasses neurogenic communication disorders, videofluoroscopic swallowing studies, and evidence-based stroke rehabilitation. Whether conducting hospital bedside evaluations, developing IEPs for students with autism, or managing complex traumatic brain injuries, I deliver personalized, evidence-based interventions that adapt seamlessly across medical, educational, and private practice settings.
Speech therapy addresses speech and language disorders through specialized exercises and techniques designed to enhance communication skills. Our practice is dedicated to supporting young children with speech delays, language development challenges, and autism spectrum disorders as they build essential communication foundations. We also provide targeted articulation therapy for students who need additional support mastering challenging sounds like /r/, /s/, and the voiced and voiceless /th/ sounds. For adults navigating communication challenges following neurological changes, we offer comprehensive care for conditions such as Aphasia and Dysarthria, helping clients rebuild and strengthen their ability to connect with others.

Moving Forward Together
Starting speech therapy is an investment in your ability to connect with others, express yourself clearly, and participate fully in the conversations that matter most to you. We're committed to making this journey as smooth and effective as possible, providing you with the tools, support, and flexibility needed to achieve meaningful communication improvements.
Your communication goals are our priority, and we're honored to be part of your journey toward clearer, more confident expression.
At Speech, Language, & Learning of Dallas, PLLC, we understand that taking the first step toward improving communication can feel overwhelming. Whether you're a parent concerned about your child's speech development, a student struggling with certain sounds, or an adult working to regain communication abilities after a medical event, you're not alone. We're here to guide you through every step of your journey with compassion, expertise, and personalized care.
Your path to improved communication begins with understanding your unique needs. We start by getting to know you and your specific challenges through an in person or online consultation and comprehensive intake paperwork that covers your medical history, current communication concerns, and what brought you to seek speech therapy services. This information helps us create a foundation for your personalized treatment approach.
Following your initial paperwork, we'll schedule a comprehensive speech- language evaluation. If you have had a recent evaluation, it may be decided that it is best you move forward with signing a consent for treatment and schedule your first therapy session. If a speech and language evaluation is needed, the assessment will be through secure online platforms.
During this process, we take the time to truly understand not just what challenges you're facing, but also your communication strengths. Every individual brings unique abilities to the table, and recognizing these strengths is just as important as identifying areas for growth.
Your Personalized Roadmap to Success
Once we've completed your evaluation, you'll receive a detailed treatment plan designed specifically for your needs. This isn't a one-size-fits-all approach – it's a carefully crafted roadmap that includes your communication strengths, specific areas for improvement, and personalized goals written just for you.
Before beginning therapy sessions, we'll sit down together to review your plan in detail. We want you to feel confident and informed about your journey ahead, understanding not just what we'll be working on, but why these goals matter for your daily communication needs.
